iaround, New York
a "digital platform" for the showcase/mapping of performance works
As part of their curatorial residency, Bean and Benjamin Sebastian, Directors of ]performance s p a c e [ are proud to introduce Anna Martinou and her digital performance platform, iaround. See below for details.
About the iaround project
iaround invites NY based artists and collectives who work on live performance / digital performance / site specific / or performance on camera to participate at the iaround, New York project.
iaround is a digital platform which started a year ago to map the live art activity and the urban interventions that happen in unusual places across the city of London. The platform provides an interactive customized Google Map where the artist/company/collective can present their work online in a visually engaging way. The map serves both as documentation and a social media tool as it integrates the process of presenting, communicating and archiving a project all into one application.
The team behind iaround will be in New York from August 15th until the 15th of September as part of an artistic residency at the Grace Exhibition Space in Brooklyn and are interested in ‘mapping’ New York City’s artistic activity.
If you are interested in showcasing your work on the map please send the following material to anna@performancespace.org :
- a short video link of the work (youtube link, 3min max)
- The specific address of the location that the work took place. The more unusual the location is the most likely is to be featured on the map.
- A short description of the work (100-150 words) and its credits
- 3-4 images of documentation of the work (if available)
- Any relevant links
If you want to find out more about iaround and how to participate please contact Anna Martinou at anna@performancespace.org
