Guest Curator: Anonymous Boh of the Non Grata Group
October - November, 2012

Grace Exhibition Space’s mission is to establish an environment that supports exchange and collaboration among performance artists and audiences from diverse cultures and artistic backgrounds. We seek artists who exhibit an interest in cross-cultural collaboration and exploration.

Al Paldrok, alias Anonymous Boh of the international Non Grata Group, will be the second Guest Curator for the fall performance program at Grace Exhibition Space in Brooklyn.
Estonian Anonymous Boh has been active since 1992 in many capacities: as a member of the performance group Non Grata; as Founder and Director of the Academia Non Grata in Parnu, Estonia; as Founder, Organizer and Curator of the International Diverse Universe Performance Art Festival which started in Tallinn, Estonia and is now a touring festival throughout Europe. He also participates throughout the year with the Non Grata Group in festivals in North and South America. Europe and Asia.

At Grace Exhibition Space, Anonymous Boh’s program collects together the diversity of live art from the Big Apple and from all over the world: America, Europe, Asia and Africa. During Anonymous Boh’s residency, he will present a live performance art event every Friday night. During the rest of the week, the performers will be taking over the rest of the city. Be ready to meet things you’re never ready for, Wild Visuals, Weird Sounds, Crazy Actions, Unexpected Results, Political Statements, and Even More! Squatting personal and public space - physically, virtually, mentally.

NOVEMBER 2 Guest Curator: Ryan Hawk: Alpha: An Exploration of Masculinity Through Aesthetics

Alpha: An Exploration of Masculinity Through Aesthetics is a one night event of live visual performance art and performative works. The show invites viewers to contemplate, alongside the artists, the utilization of masculinity as a vehicle and tool for ideas. The work chosen not only challenges preconceived notions of masculinity, but asks for the removal of masculinity and its often differentiated, femininity, from the gendered and binary body, as characteristics belonging to all individuals.
