Living Walls: Albany is a project designed to raise awareness about the use of public space. It is about exploring options that a smaller city like ours has and giving the people here a chance to interact with public space as they never have before. Through a series of lectures, performances, and the involvement of some of the world�s great mural artists, we are looking to provide and education into public art. The Living Walls project is intent on creating an open dialogue between the people and city.

LIVING WALLS, ALBANY A City Wide Art and Urban Education Conference
Living Walls Albany is a public symposium on a grand scale. A meeting of the minds, brushes, spray cans and other more obscure modalities of expression. For three days Albany will become the cultural center of New York State.
Throughout the city a series of lectures and workshops will be delving into the sustainability, livability and cultural future of our historic region. Old buildings will be brought new life by national, international and local visual & performance artists. This process will be a visible testament to the significant heartbeat the arts provides our region.
Our primary goal is to bring tangible changes to the communities of Albany, while offering an insight into the potential of what a galvanized art community can provide.
Living Walls is an act of aesthetic resurrection for our abandoned lots, desecrated buildings and their surrounding communities.
Such a project is platform for engaging the public space and expanding the horizons of knowledge within the realm of art and beyond.

Opened in 2006, Grace Exhibition Space is devoted exclusively to Performance Art. We offer an opportunity to experience visceral and challenging works by the current generation of international performance artists whether emerging, mid-career or established. Our events are presented on the floor, not on a stage, dissolving the boundary between artist and viewer. This is how performance art is meant to be experienced and our mission is the glorification of performance art.
Grace Exhibition Space presents over 30 curated live performance art exhibitions each year, showcasing new work by more than 400 performance artists from across the United States and the world since 2006.
